Dr. Val Margarit is a human-centered leadership strategist, sociologist, educator, author, and founder of Power Shift™.

Her work sits at the intersection of personal authority, human potential, learning, culture, and leadership.

From humble beginnings in a farming village to classrooms, leadership roles, and global stages, Val’s life has been shaped by one core belief: human potential is rarely the problem. The deeper issue is often the conditions around it.

Growing up without running water or access to many opportunities, Val learned early that education could change a life. Her mother never had the chance to go to school because of poverty, and that became one of Val’s deepest motivations.

Through education, resilience, and purpose, Val became a sociologist, professor, associate dean, author, and leadership advisor. For more than two decades, she worked inside education and leadership systems, teaching students, developing faculty, designing courses, and helping people see what they were capable of becoming.

Across that work, she saw the same pattern again and again: capable people limited not by lack of potential, but by outdated systems, inherited expectations, and environments that rewarded performance while often disconnecting people from truth, energy, and meaning.

That realization became the foundation of Power Shift™.

Today, through her courses, writing, speaking, and advisory work, Val helps people build personal authority, strengthen their inner foundation, and create success that reflects who they are and how they want to lead.
